Do you need an Asbestos Survey for your property?
We provide UKAS 17020 Accredited Asbestos Surveys for all types of properties across the UK. Regulation 4 “Duty to Manage” requires the duty holder to find out whether your property contains asbestos, assess the risk, and develop a plan to manage that risk and act on it. Failure to comply could result in prosecution by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Asbestos
Management Survey
Management surveys are non destructive surveys to allow for a management plan to be formed in accordance with Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. These surveys are typically carried out in commercial buildings (Schools, offices etc) and to meet mortgage companies requirements during purchases of property. A management survey will find all asbestos (as far as reasonably practical) that maybe damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy.
Pre-Refurbishment
Asbestos Survey
It is a legal requirement to carry out a pre-refurbishment asbestos survey prior to works commencing on ANY building in the UK. Pre-refurbishment surveys are fully intrusive and can be destructive. Prior to refurbishment works these surveys are carried out in order to identify asbestos containing materials which may be disturbed during the works. Pre refurbishment surveys can be targeted to specific areas or items and can be carried out in conjunction with Asbestos management surveys.
Pre-Demolition Asbestos Survey
It is a legal requirement to carry out a pre-demolition asbestos survey on any building or structure prior to being demolished. These surveys require extensive damage to be caused to the building as all the asbestos needs to be found. Aggressive surveying techniques will be used which will be fully intrusive and destructive. The building may not be fit for reoccupation following this type of survey.
